St Joseph's Benalla Celebrates 150 Years

St Joseph’s Catholic Parish Benalla will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Parish on Sunday 25 October with a Concelebrated Mass at 2 p.m.

You are warmly invited to attend the Jubilee Mass with Bishop René Ramirez RCJ and Bishop Emeritus Les Tomlinson in attendance.
Following the Mass, afternoon tea and refreshments will be offered in St Joseph’s Primary School Hall. There will be a collection of historic photos and a video of parishioner interviews to view, as well as a newly updated history of the Parish booklet and other souvenirs available for sale.

As part of the celebrations marking the 150th Anniversary, the faithful have also been given the opportunity to receive a Plenary Indulgence. An indulgence is a special gift of God’s mercy, offered through the ministry of the Church, by which the temporal effects of sins already forgiven are remitted. Those wishing to receive the indulgence are invited to fulfil the usual conditions: sacramental Confession, reception of Holy Communion, prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, and a sincere desire to turn away from sin. It is a beautiful reminder that our anniversary is not simply about looking back with gratitude over 150 years, but also about renewing our faith and allowing God’s grace to lead us into the future.

All are very welcome at this notable occasion for St Joseph’s Parish in Benalla.

Invited special guests are kindly requested to R.S.V.P.
