A beautiful sign of growth in our youth ministry is the rise of Youth-led Masses in Bendigo. These celebrations are a fruit of ongoing accompaniment, evangelisation and strong partnerships across schools and parishes. It is inspiring to see young people stepping forward, supporting one another, and taking active roles in the liturgy, bringing energy, joy and a deep sense of faith into the community.
Youth-led Masses are currently taking place at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Holy Rosary and St Kilian’s.
We are hopeful and prayerful that this will grow beyond Bendigo and reach other regions across the Diocese. We desire to see more young people find a place in the Church where they feel they belong and are encouraged to lead. Let us continue to pray for our young people, support them and invite them into our parish communities as we journey together in faith.
For young people who would like to get involved in Youth-led Masses, or for parishes interested in starting their own, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to the Sandhurst Youth Ministry Team for support, guidance and connection. We also warmly invite parishes to share their Youth-led Mass plans and initiatives with us, as we continue to grow and support one another across the Diocese.
And for those of you who are already involved in Youth-led Masses elsewhere in our Diocese, we’d love to hear about it!
